The Last Airbender Full Trailer

Apple has released a brand new trailer for the 2nd highly anticipated movie of the year (of course we know Iron Man is number one). It will come in both 2D and 3D, let's just hope the 3D conversion is good especially on those kick-ass action scenes.

It is based on the successful Nickelodeon animated TV series, Avatar: The Last Airbender. It centers on Aang, the successor to a line of Avatars who have the ability to control the four elements (water, fire, wind and earth). Peace was in order in the four nations that represented each elements until the Avatar disappeared and the fire nation wage war to the other three nations. It's up to the 12 year old Avatar to restore balance and peace to the four nations.

It is said that if this movie will hit, it will redeem M.Night Shyamalan-adingdong's career, let's just be hopeful that's it good and does well. Bended elements will hit you this July 2, 2010. See Appa flies and tell us what you think.

Chris Evans is Captain America

The casting search for Captain America is finally over. Marvel and Joe Johnston started with a list of potential actors who they felt could play the part including John Krasinski, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Chace Crawford and Garret Hedlund. Until the list dropped down to Mike Vogel, Garrett Hedlund, Wilson Bethel, Ryan Phillippe, Channing Tatum and Chris Evans.

Marvel Studios and Director Joe Johnston have now confirmed that Chris Evans is Captain America. The deal calls for Evans to star in nine Marvel movies with at least three "Captain America" movies and will reprise his role in The Avengers, which will united Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and the Incredible Hulk (Edward Norton) in one film. That film is scheduled for May 4, 2012. The character also will likely make cameo appearances in Marvel's other films.

The First Avenger: Captain America is being directed by Joe Johnston (The Rocketeer, October Sky, The Wolfman) from a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who both co-wrote the first two Chronicles of Narnia films. Also, Hugo Weaving (The Matrix) is close to a deal to play the title character’s nemesis, Red Skull.

Shooting on Johnston’s flick will start this summer, and will hit cinemas on 22 July, 2011. Filming is set to begin at the end of June in the UK.

Personally, I would prefer Garrett Hedlund or Jensen Ackles of Supernatural to wield the iconic sheild.

Local News: Mondia shot in Jaro, Iloilo City

Former Mayor Luis Mondia Jr., 53, of Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, was shot at close range as he was leaving the Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo City at about 6:45 last night, with his wife, Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, Western Visayas police operations chief, said.

Mondia is running for mayor of Pulupandan against incumbent Mayor Magdaleno Peña, fueling speculation that the shooting could have been politically motivated.

Mondia was rushed to the Iloilo Mission Hospital accompanied by his wife, Evelinda. He remained unconscious and was still in critical condition as of press time, De la Paz said.

The couple had just attended an Ash Wednesday mass and the former mayor was about to enter his red Mazda pickup when a gunman armed with .45 caliber pistol fired at him, hitting him in the left shoulder  and the nape, Chief Inspector Orly Gabinete, Jaro police station chief, said.

Radio reports said he was also hit in the head and that the shot to the nape affected his spinal column but no official confirmation could be made as of press time.

The gunman then escaped on board a blue XRM motorcycle driven by his waiting companion towards the back of the Jaro Cathedral, Gabinete added.

He said a civilian volunteer and numerous other persons witnessed the shooting.

The gunman wearing a white T-shirt was described to be about 5 feet 6 inches to 7 inches in height, chubby faced and moreno in color, while his companion on the waiting motorcycle was about 5 feet 4 inches to 5 inches in height and wearing a blue shirt according to witnesses, Gabinete said.

Recovered from the scene of the incident were three fired empty shells from a .45 caliber pistol, De la Paz said.
Chief Supt. Isagani Cuevas, PNP regional director, immediately ordered the creation of Special Investigation Task Group Mondia headed by De la Paz to oversee the investigation and pursuit of the suspects.

Mondia had filed his Certificate of Candidacy on Nov. 30 to run for mayor of Pulupandan against Peña, who defeated his brother Samson Mondia for the mayorship in 2007.

His sister, Gina Mondia Villanueva, 43, also filed her COC to run for vice mayor against Pena’s brother-in-law incumbent Vice Mayor Antonio Suatengco.

Shortly after the 2007 polls, Peña was ambushed in Pulupandan but survived with injuries. Two of his bodyguards were killed. The New People’s Army claimed responsibility for the ambush, but Peña charged the Mondia brothers for it. The Mondias denied involvement in the attempt on Peña’s life.

Peña last night denied speculations that he was behind the shooting of Luis Mondia. He said he hopes Mondia would get well soon as he does not want the coming election to be “boring”.

Samson Mondia last night said he would not issue a statement on the shooting of his brother.

The police and COMELEC had earlier placed Pulupandan on their watchlist for having a history of having hotly contested polls. - Carla Gomez

3 Days to go before PBB DOUBLE UP FINAL NIGHT

4 Days to go before the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up Final Night. And who do you think will win..

Almost everywhere I go, the topic that I always hear among friends talking may it be kids or adults is about the PBB Double Up on who will win the big grand prize. So lets make a short poll here. who do you think will win..let's take a big guess.and would appreciate it if you'll join here by posting your comments and reason why you think the one's you chose to be on the 1st slot deserve it...and let me start with my guess..

My guess (1st-5th)

1st- PAUL JAKE why his the 1st on my list?Because he is smart and talks no nonsense.Every time he is asked why he is evicting a certain housemate he always gives a valid reason. And him being rich is not a reason to vote him out I find it  lame when some housemates uses that reason to vote him out.

2nd- TIBO   he looks humble and responsible.

3rd- MELISSA - I chose her to be on third simply because I thought she should be on third. Though she makes me laugh on her comic facial stunts I sometimes find her nonsense and over reacting over simple things.I dont know maybe she is really that but I find her sometimes so loud and so annoying.Anyway she is still my third bet

4th JASON -  Just like my reason for Melissa. Sometimes he is unreasonable. And kinda lazy and untidy.

5th JOHANN- Now, I put him into 5th simply because I don't like him hehe..

Now it's your turn..post here on our blog your bet for the Pinoy Big Brother Double Up BIG NIGHT

Note: Everything posted in here are all just my opinion. Nothing intended to hurt any fans of the names listed above.thanks!

HOW TO KEEP YOUR BOYFRIEND HAPPY

LOVE is in the AIR..yup! sure it is and 6 days to go before Valentines day..

Well this blog would be connected to the previous blog I posted. If we have tips on how to keep our girlfriends happy, there will also be for men..SO ladies, read on. Hope some of the tips you'll read here will help you keep your man..for life

HOW TO KEEP YOUR BOYFRIEND HAPPY

1. COMPLIMENT HIM
Hey ladies! it's not just us who wants to be flourished with sweet and nice things. Men would also love their girl to appreciate nice things from him, so go ahead and shower him with anything nice.Make sure that its true and as what I said on the other blog..Mean it when you say it.

2. COOK FOR HIM
Yes!..cook for him, as the saying goes " A way to a man's heart is through his stomach" and it does work. Though I haven't tried it personally hehe. You don't have to be an expert in cooking but try preparing something delicious that he'll sure love, not just the food but you too as well.

3. RESPECT HIM
Its a 2 way process, if you want him to respect you, you should also return the respect he gave you. Show appreciation and give consideration to his beliefs.

4. DO NOT BE A NAG
Do not try to change him. Remember before you became a couple you have accepted him as what he is. If  later you discovered something in his character that you dislike, at least try to talk it over with him BUT DO NOT force him to change. Change should come from the person itself not because you obliged him to.

5. BE AN OPEN BOOK
You don't need to tell him everything but its better if whatever you have in the past you will share it with him. REMEMBER it is better if he hears it from you straight rather than hearing it from someone else.Do not keep secrets let him know the flaws and the nice things that happened to your life. by doing that he will understand you more

6. SUPPORT HIM
In a relationship both you and your partner are incomplete and the reason you became a couple its because you fill the things that one is incapable of but it does not mean that you have to be dependent. So, if your boyfriend is into something or in a position to make decision support him. By doing so, you will help him succeed his task knowing that you will be there for your boyfriend to support him. If  he is playing with a team cheer for him that would show how much you support him.

7. DO NOT BE OVERPOSSESSIVE
Being envious would be a no no for guys. If you see him talking to another girl, you don't need to fret and punish him for talking to someone else. Avoid being too suspicious, avoid being too clingy. You might be starting a petty quarrel over some unimportant stuff. Respect your man and give him some space.

8. SHOWER HIM WITH LOVE AND AFFECTION
Hey ladies!..it is not just us who wants to be complimented. We should also be very appreciative of our partner. They too need our hugs and kisses and constant I LOVE YOU's. Occasionally give him gifts, love letter or something that is sweet.

Hope you learned something from this tips. and hope you will have a great and fun relationship

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR GIRLFRIEND HAPPY

VALENTINES is approaching and LOVE is in the air..

I hope this article will help men realize how important it is to keep their girlfriends happy. I don't claim these tips as very effective but at least this would be a great guide for keeping your relationship happy and healthy...so READ ON..let the LOVE begin..

TIPS TO KEEP YOUR GIRLFRIEND HAPPY

1. Be loyal to her
The relationship becomes harmonious if you are loyal and honest to your girlfriend. Being loyal means remembering you have a partner who love's you when you are getting attracted. Do not attempt to cheat on your girlfried, try to DISCUSS whatever misunderstanding nad issues you both have. Nothing can't be resolved without talking.

2.  Say sorry
Don't hesitate to say sorry. this would just show your humbleness and love for her to accept the wrong thing you have done. Do not say "I am sorry that I hurt you" it shows arrogance, but instead say "I'm sorry I shouldn't have done it so"..this show you are really apologetic and accepts the fact that indeed you have done your girlfriend wrong.

3. Say that you love her
These 3 magic words would always give the feeling that your girlfriend is always loved.BUT don't just say it just for the sake of saying it. Make her feel that you love her by holding her hands and gently pressing it, look into her eyes and tell her how much you love and care for her. Yeah, I know its kinda cheesy but sometimes we should do it just to show our deep feelings for our partner. right?

4.  Call her back
If you told her you'd be calling her back, make sure to call back. It doesn't take an hour for you to pick up the phone just to ask her if she had eaten her dinner, if how was her day.  At least take time to call her once a day even for 5 mins. just to check on her or just to say you miss her and that you care.

5.  Send her sweet text messages
Make use of technology. If you can't call her up, text her a sweet message. This would show that even if it's a busy day you take time to let her know that she is on your mind missing her..

6.    Share things with her
It's good to share things that happened to you on a day.Share to her something about your past, your life and things you are doing before you met her. It's good to tell her before she gets to know it from other source. Introduce her to your friends, tell how you exactly feel on that very moment, ask her what shirt would look good on you etc. by doing this you are building a good bridge instead of gaps in you relationship. It's showing her that you are open for any questions your girlfriend might have in mind.

7. Spend time with her
You're girlfriend wil always appreciate the time you spent with her even if it just for 30 mins if it is a quality time. A relationship will work if you give it time. At least always make your date as if it is your first date, do things that will make memorable not just for you but specially for your girlfriend.

8.  Give her some space
Let your girlfriend spend time with her friends, give her breathing space to enjoy herself, people she want's to spend with (family, friends). A little space will give her time to miss you.

9.  Respect her decisions
Give respect so that others will respect you back. If you're girlfriend is going thru a difficult time, tell her not to worry and be there for her. Make her feel that you are there for her can make her feel better.

10. Public display of affection
Do not hesitate to hold her hand in public while walking, Put your hands in her shoulder BUT avoid kissing in public (I'm referring to lip locking) you might get some rude reactions and raised eyebrows.

11.  Compliment her
Do not hesitate to give her some compliments, tell her you like her smile or complement on nice things you noticed on her. AGAIN, do not just say compliment because you are obliged to give compliment. Mean it when you say it.

12.  Drop love notes and letters
Every girls/ladies would want to receive a love letter. So try to give her some love notes or give her a love letter. I'm sure your girlfriend will love it and will appreciate it most!

13.  Surprise her with gifts
Surprise your girlfriend by giving her flowers, giving her icecream, treating her out to dinner. This is also a way of putting something new or giving excitement to your relationship. and REMEMBER, girlfriends like GOOD surprises.

14.  Make her laugh
It is sometimes one way of making your relationship happy. And this will truly make your bond with your girlfriend stronger, more open and less inhibitions.

Wax on for Jackie Chan; The Karate Kid Remake Trailer

Never heard of it, but I'm glad I came across to this trailer by chance on Youtube. Why does the film industry keep doing this remakes? Maybe they run out of good ideas. But who cares? As long as they entertain me, nothing can stop me watching them. One thing is for sure, eventhough how many times they try to redo it, we just can't help it to remember the original and memorable characters. I mean who could forget Mr. Miyagi? Everytime we talk about Karate Kid, Pat Morita's character comes into play.

This remake casts Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith as teacher and student respectively. The set is in China and the kid is learning kung fu instead of karate. Jackie chan has told interviewers that it will only called "The Karate Kid" in America and "The Kung Fu Kid" in Asia. It will contain lots of homages to the original film, such as the famous fly catching scene. Does it mean we could see Jackie Chan doing wax on, wax off thing? See the trailer for yourself.

Just a few laughs on what people said in the 1800s and 1900s. Predictions, most of them doesn't come true. Predicting the future is never easy, that's why fortune tellers tend to keep their forecasts as vague as possible.

Marvel Movies 01-20-2010 Update

Here is a quick updates on the upcoming Marvel movies and let your saliva run down from your mouth with these ass-kicking fan made Thor and Captain America teaser posters.

Iron Man 2

Fin Fang Foom will have a cameo in Iron Man 2, more like an easter egg according to artist Adi Granov. Robert Downey Jr. who shows at the Golden Globe Awards has still a Tony Stark goatee, does it mean he will be doing a cameo on Thor, which is now shooting?

Iron Man 2 will hit theaters on May 7, 2010

Thor

That this movie is a piece will culminate the superhero team-up film "Avengers."

Thor had begun filming last week, and Stuart Townsend was replaced by Joshua Dallas to play Fandral the dashing. Joseph Gatt also confirms that he's a Thor villain, revealing that he's "playing a bad guy with a lot of action" and hinted that he would give Thor "a lot of grief." Remember S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Paul Coulson? Not only he will be back on Iron Man 2 but will also make an appearance on Thor. The presence of S.H.I.E.L.D. only confirms that they are creating a single universe, that will lead to the creation of the superhero team-up film "Avengers." Lastly, director Kenneth Branagh has talked about the status of the movie.

“We have many miles to go and promises to keep, but so far, so good, Everybody’s doing very good work and just a lot of it is so promising. Fingers crossed for everybody and everything. Hemsworth is a great guy.”

Lightning strikes on May 6, 2011.

Captain America

Director Joe Johnston talks about his new The First Avenger: Captain America.

"It's not going to be a Captain America that you expect. It's something different. It is influenced by the comic book, but it goes off in a completely different direction. It's the origin story of Captain America. It's mostly period—there are modern, present-day bookends on it—but it's basically the story of how Steve Rogers becomes Captain America. The great thing about Captain America is he's a super hero without any super powers. Which is why this story, among the hundreds of super hero stories, appealed to me the most. He can't fly, he can't see through walls, he can't do any of that stuff. He's an every man who's been given this amazing gift of transformation into the perfect specimen—the pinnacle of human perfection. How does that affect him? What does that mean for him emotionally and psychologically? He was this 98-pound weakling, he was this wimp, and he's transformed instantly into this Adonis. You'd think he got everything he wanted. Well, he didn't get everything he wanted. The rules change at that point and his life gets even more complicated and dire. For me, that's the interesting part of the story. It's got some great action sequences in it and some incredible stuff that we've never seen before. But at the heart of it, it's a story about this kid who all he wants to do is fit in. This thing happens and he still doesn't fit in. And he has to prove himself a hero—essentially go AWOL to save a friend..."

Expect your shield on July 22, 2011.

Spider-Man

Two weeks ago, there was news about Spider-Man 4 villains - John Malkovich to play the Vulture and Felicia Hardy's appearance. Last week, there was news about scrapping Spider-Man 4 and reboot Spider-Man.

Last, January 11, 2010, Sony simultaneously cancelled Spider-Man 4 and announced that the franchise would be rebooted with a new director and new cast. The reboot film will focus on the teenage years of Peter Parker. Sony confirmed that James Vanderbilt will write the script for the new film. It was jointly announced today by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios that Marc Webb, the director of the Golden Globe-nominated Best Picture (500) Days of Summer, will direct the next Spider-Man franchise.

Spidey is expected to swing back on summer 2012.

Nikon D3000 Overview

The Nikon D3000 is a 10.2 megapixel DX format DSLR camera announced by Nikon on 30 July 2009. It replaces the D40 as Nikon's entry level DSLR. It features a 3.0-inch 230,000-dot resolution LCD monitor, CCD sensor with ISO 100 - 1600 (3200 with Boost) and 3D tracking Multi-CAM1000 11-point AF system which makes it quite similar to the Nikon D200 in these main parts. Initially priced with $599 MSRP, actual prices are much lower.[2]

Like the Nikon D40, D40x, D60 and D5000, the D3000 lacks an in-body autofocus motor, which means that only Nikon F-mount lenses designated with AF-I and AF-S or compatible can be used in autofocus mode. A electronic rangefinder can be used to find focus. All the lenses with an integrated autofocus-motor can be used with autofocus.

Features

- Nikon's 10.2-megapixel Nikon DX format CCD sensor.
- Nikon's EXPEED image processor.
- Camera assisted "Guide" mode.
- Active D-Lighting.
- Sensor cleaning.
- 3.0-inch 230,000-dot resolution fixed TFT LCD
- Continuous Drive up to 3 frames per second.
- 3D Color Matrix Metering II with Scene Recognition System.
- 3D Tracking Multi-CAM 1000 autofocus sensor module with 11 AF points.
- ISO sensitivity 100 to 1600 (3200 with boost).
- Nikon F-mount lenses.
- i-TTL flash exposure system without built-in wireless control.
- File formats: JPEG, NEF (Nikon's RAW, 12-bit compressed)

Reception

Reviews of Nikon D3000 have been generally positive, noting that the image quality of the D3000 is comparable to more expensive 10 megapixel cameras, while recognizing certain weaknesses such as the lack of live view and HD movie capabilities.

Cameron's Avatar Review

Seen it twice, don't know why. It's one of the most anticipated movies of 2009. So, where do I start?

Okay, my first reaction was the visuals - impressive, it has the most sharpest CGI I've ever seen. It's so realistic that you don't even know if it's real jungle or not but obvoiusly you know that already because there ain't floating lands here on Earth. They make the best out of CGI here especially at night scenes, where the luminescent wildlife in the forest shines most. The 400 million budget and 10 years in the making means only one thing and one goal - CGI Perfection.

Characters are blue, yes they are all blue. Na'vis are color blue indigenous humanoids and Jake Sully is feeling blue when he found himself in hopeless situation.

Some said the story is great, well not for me. With a run time of almost 3 hours, it has only a simple plot, not even a twist ending. You don't believe me eh? Okay, here's a quick overview of the film. Jakes arrives on Pandora and operates an Avatar. Learns the Na'vi's culture and giving back intelligence about the natives to RDA. Fell in love with a Na'vi, confessed about RDA's plan and was deserted by the tribe. He betrayed his commander by helping save the Na'vi, end of story. Sounds like you've heard this story before, sounds like "Dances with the Wolves", you know there aren't new modern movies lately that are 100% original.

After I've seen it for the first time, I knew that this was a rip-off of Fern Gully - the characters, plot and the theme itself. It's like a well budgeted and live action version of Fern Gully. It also came to my mind that this movie is influenced by the games like Starcraft and Warcraft. I found a lot of similarities like the Humans being the Terrans and the Na'vi being the Night Elves, bipedal mecha like Terran's Goliath and the big resemblance of Na'vi's Hometree and the Night Elve's World Tree, and the list goes on. I know if I get lost you there, but I know the gamers can tell and even James Cameron.

Despite of what I've said of the plot earlier, I still like this film. Though it may lack my taste, there's a magic in Avatar that I want to see it again just like Titanic. After all, I've seen it twice, I could go for 3rd, 4th or let's make it to the xth time. Too bad I haven't seen it on IMAX.

Oh and wait, there's more. I know it's too early to make a sequel but it's been done considering they made profit from the first. Avatar is coming back this July 2010. Just kidding, it's no sequel, it's just another adaptation of the animated series Avatar, and it was written and directed by none other than M. Night Shyamalana-ding-dong!

It's not every year that we get to meet our friends in a single day..good thing that there is long holiday here in the Philippines that our dear friends from different places can come home..

and FINALLY last January 2, 2010 WE all agreed to meet at this day...it has been Boojie's plan to take us to The Ruins at Talisay and after that a dinner at Resto Grill in Bredco. Unfortunately not all of our batch in college were able to attend, actually we don't have any info where we can contact them so that they can attend to our mini-reunion hehe...and here's the photo's of our getogether..

Dining Out....at d'Rasa

this blog is actually long overdue..anyway just wanted to share the place where we had our dinner..it is actually our first time to eat at d'Rasa..

December 27,2009 6:30PM, I was suppose to meet my college friends there at d'Rasa and have our small christmas party, but it seems that the meet-up was postponed because not everyone is available on that day.. So, since boj and I don't have plans going somewhere we agreed to have dinner at d'Rasa.

d'Rasa is a restaurant located at the ground floor of Metrodome. Place is cozy, with a smooth background of music. The service is good, staff is accommodating. If you'll go there in group, its better if you'll use their second floor, it is much more private coz there's a part in there where you can sit and relax on their comfy sofa chatting with your friend :). I forgot to mention the food!..OFCOURSE the food is excellent. a little pricey but its ok if you want to bring a special guest for a special dinner. I bet the place would be in full pack this valentines..hehehe

well here are some of our pictures while enjoying our good food at d'rasa.

s'il vous plaît permet de manger(let's eat!--in french)
