Konami Code on Facebook

Facebook is one of the many sites that implements Konami Code. Which means one of the founders or programmers are also nostalgic gamers.

For those of you who doesn't know what the code is, Konami Code is just a cheat code on Konami video games such as Gradius, Castlevania and the "Rambo (Stallone) - Commando (Schwarzenegger) game" - Contra, which made it famous for cheating its lives from 3 to 30. Konami still uses this code to its recent released games. Though cheats is its primary function, some games uses it as an virtual easter egg like the Metal Gear series does, which gives hidden message or a joke. It's so famous that it is used by other game publishers and other web developers implemented it to gain access to their website or in Facebook's case - to have effects.

Try the Konami Code on Facebook and press the Enter key and you'll see a lens flare effects when typing or scrolling over.

The Konami Code is "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A".

Now you know the code, you can also try it here and tell us what you see. I'll give you a hint: "do it under 2 seconds and it's not an effect".
